Factions and dress code play a major part in Frontline games. Currently, most games separate forces by "Green vs Tan". This makes identification difficult, and in some cases impossible. The primary reason for Frontline faction rules is to eliminate issues attributed to the shortcomings of "Green vs Tan" identification. By enforcing a faction based dress code, you now are able to identify enemy forces much easier than by trying to identify a colour. The silhouette based identification (IFF - Identify Friend or Foe) works in many conditions and also adds to the immersive gameplay of a simulation.
